Ask about your apps in a LINE group mention Erawan, and it answers there

Your team already talks in a LINE group, so ask there when an app goes wrong. This lesson links the group to your Erawan account, once. After that, mention Erawan and ask why an app shows 404 or why a deploy failed: AI checks your account and answers in the group, and anything that needs a person, the Erawan team answers in the same group.

Stuck somewhere? Erawan looks into it for free on Hobby and above.

Before you start

  • An Erawan Cloud account with your apps in it. Whoever links the group must own that account, because a group can only ask about the account it is linked to.
  • The LINE group you want to ask in. Your team's group, or the one you share with a client.

Everyone in a linked group sees the questions and answers about this account. Link only a group you are happy to show your apps' state to.

1. Open Support and press “Link a LINE chat”

Go to console.erawan.cloud, signed in as the account that owns the apps.

  1. In the left menu, choose Support
  2. In the Ask in LINE card, press Link a LINE chat

The Support page in the Erawan console. Number 1 on Support near the bottom of the left menu, number 2 on the Link a LINE chat button in the Ask in LINE card

Support → Ask in LINE → Link a LINE chat

2. Add Erawan Cloud as a friend, and note the code

  1. Scan the QR with your phone's camera. LINE opens the Erawan Cloud account; add it as a friend. With the console open on a phone, there is an Add friend in LINE button instead of the QR.
  2. The code that starts with ERW- is what you send to the group in the next step.

Reading this on a computer? Scan this QR to add the friend from here. On a phone, tap add Erawan Cloud as a friend.

Leave this window open. When the group is linked, it changes to “Linked” by itself.

A code works once, within 30 minutes. If it runs out, press Link a LINE chat again for a new one.

3. Invite Erawan Cloud to the group, and send the code

  1. In the LINE group, open the group menu and invite Erawan Cloud, which you just added.
  2. When Erawan joins, it says hello once and tells the group how to link it.
  3. Send the code from step 2 in the group, on its own. No mention needed.

Erawan answers “This chat is now linked to the account …”. From then on, the group can ask about your account.

Rather not use a group? Send the code in your own chat with Erawan instead. If you sign in to Erawan with LINE, your own chat works already, with no code.

4. Mention @Erawan Cloud and ask

In the group, type @ and pick Erawan Cloud from the list that appears, then your question, for example

@Erawan Cloud why does shop.erawan.app answer 404?

It has to be picked from the list. A name typed out in full is not a mention to LINE, and Erawan never sees the message. Messages that do not mention Erawan are not read at all, so the group talks about everything else as usual.

What happens next:

  1. AI checks the apps in your account and answers in the group, usually within a few seconds, signed “— answered automatically”.
  2. When it takes longer, Erawan first replies with a reference, like “Got it (T-3f9a1c). Looking into it; the answer will come back to this chat.”, and the answer follows.
  3. When the AI is not sure, Erawan says “this one needs a person. The team has it”, and the Erawan team answers in the same group, signed “— the Erawan team”.

Every question asked in LINE also appears on the Support page, to read again later.

What Erawan can answer

  • Can answer: what state an app is in and what that means, why the last deploy failed, whether your plan covers what you want to do, what an error you saw means.
  • Cannot do yet: restart, fix or change an app or its code. Erawan tells you what to do next, or passes the question to the team.
  • Never says in the group: a secret, a password or a token, even one that appears in a build's error.

A group can ask 10 questions an hour. How many automatic answers an account gets a day depends on its plan; after that, the Erawan team answers instead.

See linked groups, or unlink one

Back on the Support page, in the Ask in LINE card:

  1. Each linked group is listed with when it was linked.
  2. This button unlinks it. After that, nothing about this account is sent to that group.

The Ask in LINE card with a group linked. Number 1 on the row for the group Shop team, linked just now, number 2 on the unlink button at the end of the row

Removing Erawan from the group does the same: the link goes with it.

A group is linked to one account. Sending another account's code in the same group moves the group to that account.

If you get stuck

  • Erawan stays silent after a mention. Type @ again and pick from the list. LINE does not pass on a message where the name was typed out.
  • Erawan says the chat is not linked. Send the code from step 2 in the group first, or make a new one if it has run out.
  • Erawan says the code does not work. It has expired or been used. Press Link a LINE chat again and send the new code.
  • The answers are about another account. The group is linked to the wrong one. Have the right account's owner send their own code in the group; the group moves to that account.

Once it is linked, try asking it one question about your app.
